About RollCamp
RollCamp is a free tool for playing Dungeons & Dragons 2024 — the revised fifth edition, the one many people call 5.5e. You build characters step by step, the sheet redoes its own maths with every choice, and at the table there are grid maps, 3D dice, webcams and the text of the rules. All of it in English and in Italian.
Built for one table
No company behind it: one person writes it, and it started for a real table. What was needed was a sheet that did the arithmetic for us and a place to play together without chasing five different programs. Whatever that table actually used stayed; the rest was thrown away. Then it was opened to everyone, and that is still how things get added: if it helps a game, it goes in.
Why it is free
There is no paid plan, no trial running out and nothing to unlock: what RollCamp does, it does from the first sign-in. There are no ads, no profiling, and the data of the people playing is sold to nobody — usage statistics live on a server of ours, without cookies.
Where the rules come from
The text you read in the Compendium comes from the System Reference Document 5.2.1, which Wizards of the Coast publishes under a Creative Commons licence: it is free material, and that is why it can be shown to everyone without asking for an account. What the rulebook has and this does not — the subclasses, feats and backgrounds outside the SRD — is missing because of the LICENCE, not the price: it cannot be redistributed, and no subscription would change that.
RollCamp is an unofficial tool: it is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast. “Dungeons & Dragons” and “D&D” are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC.
